Medical Examiner: Former Patriots DT Ron Brace Died From 'Heart Condition'
BOSTON (CBS) -- Former Patriots defensive tackle Ron Brace passed away from an apparent heart attack in April. Results from a recent medical examination confirm that pre-existing heart conditions led to his untimely death.
A spokesperson for the Massachusetts medical examiner's office confirmed via an AP report that Brace "likely died from an irregular heartbeat combined with a heart condition caused by high blood pressure." The examiner ruled it a "natural" death and not suspicious.
Brace's father suggested in May that concussions "had something to do with his death."
A Springfield native and Boston College alum, Brace died at his family's home on April 26 at age 29. He played 39 games in four seasons with the Patriots.
