Electrical Short Circuit Causes Roslindale Blaze

ROSLINDALE (CBS) -- An early morning fire in Roslindale was caused by an electrical short circuit, the Boston Fire Department said Thursday.

All three residents of the home on Hazelmere Road got out safely.

One firefighter was taken to an area hospital to be checked out for heat exhaustion.

Crews responded to the fire around 1:25 a.m.

The blaze began in the ceiling of the brick and wood home's second story. Investigators said the cause was an electrical short in the ceiling.

Damage from the fire was estimated at around half a million dollars.

The Red Cross was on scene to assist the home's residents.
