QUINCY (CBS) -- The man who died in an apparent drowning Saturday night off the coast of Quincy has been identified.

Jesse Loubier, 32, of California was found after a search that lasted about three hours.

Loubier was visiting family in Quincy. It appears he drowned while trying to free a boat from an entanglement.

According to the Norfolk District Attorney's office, witnesses said Loubier dove into the water to try to free the boat, and resurfaced to say his first attempt was unsuccessful.

After he went down a second time, he didn't come back up.

The search was launched from a boat dock at a marina in Hough's Neck. Several boats, operated by the U.S. Coast Guard, State Police and local police, and a helicopter were among those searching for Loubier.

His body was found shortly before dark.
