BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics have landed free agent center Al Horford.

Saturday evening, Horford took to his Twitter account to announce he had picked Boston, saying, "Celtics Pride!"

Horford, 30, spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Atlanta Hawks after being draft third overall in the 2007 draft. A four-time All Star, Horford has averaged 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds over his career. He started all 82 games for the Hawks last season, averaging 15.2 points on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 7.3 rebounds per game.

He averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in the first-round of the playoff last season as the Hawks beat the Celtics in six games. Atlanta was swept by the Cavaliers in the second-round, with Horford averaging 14.5 points but just 3.5 rebounds per contest.

In 73 career postseason games, Horford has averaged 12.9 points and 7.9 boards.
