Milton High School Prom-Goers Snap Impromptu Photo With Rob Gronkowski

BOSTON (CBS) – A group of Milton High School students on their way to prom got an unexpected photo opportunity as they ran into superstar Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in Boston's Seaport District.

"He is huge in person, I think that's why we noticed him so quickly," Milton High senior Greta Freking said.

It started when a prom-goer on their bus spotted Gronk in the Seaport District. He responded with a wave.

"Everyone like piled off the bus," said Sarah Dragon. "Like stampeding almost."

"It was crazy, we literally sprinted across the street," said Olivia Chin.

Gronkowski by that time had boarded his own bus, but the kids were not going to let that stop them.

"Everyone was like screaming his name outside his bus and he came out he was like 'Hey guys!' and everyone went crazy," Chin said.

Gronk gathered everyone in for a photo and cracked some jokes. A few dozen prom-goers excitedly posed in their prom dresses and tuxedos with Gronkowski, who was the only one underdressed for the occasion.

"It was the coolest thing," Freking said. "He was so friendly and so excited to be there."

Gronkowski sported a full head of hair in the photo, which was taken Friday. A day later, he buzzed it off during a charity event hosted at Gillette Stadium.
