Missing 8-Year-Old Girl Found Safe In Lynn

LYNN (CBS) – A girl who went missing for about eight hours in Lynn Monday afternoon has been found safe.

Police asked for the public's help searching for 8-year-old Laura Ofurie who went missing from the Shepard Street area at about 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.

According to Laura's uncle, the girl's father picked her up from school at about 1:45 p.m. He made her lunch and then took a shower. When he came out to check on her she was still there.

He then went back to the bathroom to shave and when he came out a second time, she was gone. The father says his car keys that were on the table were gone and he found them in the parked car outside with all of the windows down. That car had police tape on it Monday night.

Police have not released any other information about how the girl was found.

If you have any information call the Lynn Police at 781-595-2000.
