Doug Flutie's Nephew Troy Charged With Drunk Driving In Natick
NATICK (CBS) – Boston College quarterback Troy Flutie was suspended from the team Monday after he arrested over the weekend on drunk driving charges.
Flutie is the 20-year-old son of former NFL player Darren Flutie and nephew of 1984 Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie.
Natick police said Troy Flutie was arrested just after 1 a.m. Saturday on Fisher Street.
He's charged with OUI liquor, marked lanes violation, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and being a person under the age of 21 possessing liquor.
He was arraigned Monday in Natick District Court.
Troy Flutie was a redshirt freshman quarterback at BC last season.
"Troy has been suspended from the football team by Coach Steve Addazio pending further investigation and faces the possibility of additional University sanctions pending the outcome of the court proceedings," Boston College said in statement Monday afternoon.
He was named ESPNBoston's Massachusetts Mr. Football after his senior season in the fall of 2013 at Natick High School.
