Marathon Monday Forecast: Sunshine With A Cool Sea Breeze
BOSTON (CBS) -- Our temperatures keep going up as we lead into Marathon Monday! The sunshine will rule the forecast, but a sea breeze will make things a little interesting along the course.
First to today's forecast, another picture-perfect day! Sunny with an afternoon sea breeze. Temps inland in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Low to mid 50s along the coast, Cape & islands.
Marathon Monday will be even warmer, but a sea breeze again will cool temps along the coast. There will be a big difference in temps and even wind direction along the course.
Hopkinton – 8:50 a.m.
This is the start time for mobility impaired participants.
Temperatures will be around 58 degrees and climbing very quickly thanks to a clear sky, with a north wind 5-to-10 mph.
Hopkinton – 10 a.m.
Elite participants and the first wave of runners start the Boston Marathon.
Sunny & warm. A north wind of 5-to-15 miles per hour will be blowing with temps near 63 degrees.
Hopkinton – 11:15 a.m.
The final wave of runners leaves the starting line.
Sunny skies and very warm temperatures with winds remaining 5-to-15 miles per hour and temperatures climbing to 68 degrees.
Boston – Noon
Elite runners will begin nearing the finish line on Boylston Street.
Sunny, warm, and temperatures near 64 degrees thanks to a sea breeze.
ALONG THE COURSE
Between Noon and 4 p.m. as the runners travel from Hopkinton to Natick to Newton and beyond, mainly sunny skies will remain.
North winds ranging from 5-15 MPH changing to an easterly wind 5-10 mph as you approach Boston. Temperatures between 70-to-76 degrees, falling to around 60 as you reach the finish line!
