Report: Free-Agent Running Back Matt Forte To Sign With New York Jets

BOSTON (CBS) -- Free-agent running back Matt Forte was a popular name in discussions of who the New England Patriots should sign in the offseason. Instead, Forte is suiting up with Gang Green.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the former Chicago Bear is signing with the Jets. Terms have not been disclosed.
The Jets have already lost running back Chris Ivory to the Jacksonville Jaguars and stand to lose Bilal Powell to free agency leaving them with a need at running back. Forte, a dual threat both running and catching out of the backfield, was arguably the best back available on the market.
