Facebook Interested In Live Streaming NFL Games
MENLO PARK, Calif. (CBS) – There's a chance that live football will be coming to your Facebook news feed.
Facebook has confirmed that it's talking to the NFL about streaming Thursday night games using the Facebook Live feature, according to a new article by Variety.
The social media giant is also working on deals with Hollywood celebrities and pro athletes to push Facebook Live.
"We're talking to a lot of folks about live (video). There are a ton of types of content that can fit under this format," Facebook VP of partnerships Dan Rose told Variety.
CBS and NBC already have the rights to air Thursday Night Football on TV.
The NFL is selling streaming rights separately, and Amazon and Verizon are reportedly interested in getting in on the action.
