Darius Fleming Thanks Patriots On Instagram

BOSTON (CBS) -- It appears the New England Patriots and linebacker/special teamer Darius Fleming are parting ways.

Fleming, who made headlines in January after rescuing a woman from a car accident near Gillette Stadium, took to Instagram Friday morning to thank the Patriots organization. He spent the last two seasons in New England after being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012.

No official transaction involving Fleming has been announced by the team. Fleming went between the practice squad and active roster in his two years in New England, seeing most of his action on special teams. He recovered a muffed punt by Indianapolis' Josh Cribbs in the 2014 AFC Championship Game, but is probably best known for his actions off the field.

In the week leading up to New England's Divisional Round playoff game with the Kansas City Chiefs last season, Fleming rescued a woman involved in a car crash following one of that week's practices. He kicked in a window of the woman's car to retrieve her from the vehicle, and required 22 stitches in his leg just two days before the playoff game.

Fleming recorded a pair of special teams tackles in the 27-20 Patriots victory. He saw action in 11 games while with the Patriots, recording 10 tackles.
