In the years following the bombings Haslet, a professional dancer, returned to the stage thanks to her prosthetic foot.

Now, she's been training for a new challenge. Haslet- told CBS This Morning co-host Norah O'Donnell in a Friday segment about her plans to run her first Boston Marathon.

"I will always hold onto that (anger)," Haslet told O'Donnell about the feelings she has when she thinks back on the bombings. "I've learned that running really helps with that in a good way. But I believe in feeling every bit and not burying it so that you can really enjoy the good days."

Haslet said that running "was torture" for her in the past, but that's changed.

According to Haslet, running the Boston Marathon will serve as a reminder of the progress she's made since the day of the bombings.

"I'm not just an amputee. I'm not just a marathon survivor. You know, none of us are," Haslet told CBS This Morning. "And I think it's important to always remember how far you've come as well. Because I have days where I think I haven't come far at all, which sounds crazy to say, but you get in these mindsets. And it's important to see, you know? To see how far you've come."
