Chelsea Man Found Dead On Sidewalk Identified
CHELSEA (CBS) -- Police have identified the man found lying dead on a sidewalk on Cottage Street Sunday morning, and Chelsea Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office are asking the public for help in determining how he died.
Alex Perez, 34, of Chelsea, also known as Alex Perez-Lapop, was found shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday by officers responding to a separate call. Officers attempted to give him medical assistance.
Perez was taken to Whidden Memorial Hospital and declared dead around 5:45 a.m. No signs of trauma were found, and authorities said an autopsy will be conducted to try to determine how he died.
Anyone with information regarding Perez's death is being asked to contact the Chelsea Police Department.
