Boston Police Seek Suspect In Downtown Armed Robberies

BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston police released photos of a man they say used a 12-inch kitchen knife to rob pedestrians.

The attacks occurred downtown during daylight hours. In both cases, the man came from behind.

On January 30th at around 7:15 A.M., a man reported someone came from behind and grabbed his computer bag pulling him down. A witness chased the suspect from Tremont into the Boston Common and that's where the man waved a knife.

On February 10th at around 1:00 P.M, a woman was approached by the suspect outside the Citizens Bank on de Lafayette. The man came up from behind with the kitchen knife. Police said he demanded the woman withdraw money. A Good Samaritan chased him away.

In addition to the photos, police said he is 5'7 and is missing teeth. They believe he might be homeless.
