Lowell Adding Surveillance Cameras In High-Crime Spots
LOWELL (CBS) - The Lowell Police Department plans to install more video surveillance cameras in high-crime areas across the city.
The city originally set aside $500,000 to install a gunshot-detection system.
$350,000 of those funds will be reallocated to set up dozens of surveillance cameras in public parks and other areas known to be hot spots for crime.
The new cameras could be installed by this summer, Police Superintendent William Taylor confirmed.
