Coastal Towns Feel Familiar Aftermath Of Winter Storm

SCITUATE (CBS) -- Sunday was a day of clean up in Falmouth, one of the hardest hit areas of Saturday night's blizzard. The storm left behind 16 inches of snow.

High tide roared in like a lion in Scituate. Waves as high as 12 to 15 feet crashed into the seawall, spraying water and beach sand 30 feet into the air.

The area around the Old Scituate Lighthouse experienced flooding during the high tide.

But one resident told WBZ NewsRadio 1030, she's seen a lot worse.

"We had no damage, no outage, it wasn't bad at all," she said. "We're used to it."

It seems many coastal residents took the snowfall in stride.

"We're just enjoying the snow," said Falmouth resident Jeff Fiedler, who trudged outside to enjoy the buildup.

"We were not anticipating this much, but happy we got it," he said.
