Patriots Thank 99-Year-Old Fan For Her Loyalty

BOSTON (CBS) – A 99-year-old Patriots fan has stuck with the team through the highs and the lows.

Jo Guenard moved to Foxboro in 1929, long before the Patriots were even a glimmer in Billy Sullivan's eyes. She still remembers when her family owned a horse and buggy and no car.

She can also remember exactly what time every Patriots game is on.

"Oh, I've missed a few, but not many recently," she says. And Sunday's game against Denver? "It's a three o'clock start," she says, "and I think we'll win, because Manning doesn't do too well against Brady."

But she does have concern as of late. "Brady's been getting hit this year, sacked. But our line is getting healthier."

If you're sensing that this 99-year-old lady keeps up with the details of the Patriots, you're right. But what may surprise you? Her favorite is not the usual for women. "Oh, I like them all, I can't really say I have a favorite, I like them all," she says. "I like what's his name Gonk? I like him too."

The Patriots recently presented Jo with a customized jersey with her age on the back and not just for being a loyal fan. It was really for her attitude and for the way she has lived her life.

And her secret to longevity? "I don't want to be serious. I don't want to be an old grouch," she says. "It doesn't cost any more to be nice and smile than it does to be grumpy."
