Missing For Weeks, SWAT Cat Returns To Boston Police

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Police Department has been reunited with its "SWAT Cat."

It had been more than a month since anyone had seen the stray feline with distinctive black, white and orange fur that liked to hang around the Boston Police Special Weapons and Tactics base.

When SWAT Cat first went missing, police turned to social media to ask the public if anyone had seen their beloved mascot.

At about 7 a.m. Thursday, SWAT Cat came back to the base on Warren Street in Roxbury.

"The SWAT Team wants to thank the community for keeping an eye out for the feline and for all the calls and emails of support," police said. "The officers are just happy that she was safe all this time."
