Brockton Woman Recovering From Surgery Says Dogs Were Stolen

BROCKTON (CBS) – Just days after she was released from the hospital, a local woman says someone stole her two Yorkshire Terriers.

"They're just incredible dogs. They're more like a therapy dog for me than they are just a pet," victim Nicole Innocent said.

Innocent, of Glenwood Square, let her dogs outside Sunday afternoon. The mother of six suffers from Lupus, and was recovering from surgery.

Rather than follow M&M, 2, and Chichi, 9 months, down the stairs, she waited for them on her back porch.

"I could hear them and then I was like, 'Alright, it's time to go in.' They never came," she said.

In two minutes, Innocent said they had vanished.

"(They've) never taken off. I've been here for two years. They've never even gone to the bottom of the driveway," she said.

After canvasing the neighborhood, Innocent asked the businesses adjacent to her apartment to check their surveillance cameras.

The tapes reportedly show two cars pulling down the alley next to Innocent's backyard.

"I have a feeling that one of them took the dogs to try and get money for them. They're expensive dogs," she said through tears.

Innocent has reported the incident to Brockton's Animal Control.
