Unclaimed Wedding Ring Found In Plainville Store
PLAINVILLE (CBS) -- Searching for a housewarming present came with an unexpected find when Mara Travers wandered by ladies' sweatpants.
"Put my hand in the pocket, I don't even know, and felt a piece of medal," Travers said.
Travers was in the Plainville TJ Maxx early afternoon on December 30. She thought she found a key ring, but took a closer look.
"Saw it had an engraving on the inside and knew right away it was someone's a wedding ring," she said. "It was a really odd feeling."
Travers brought it the police station.
"I knew if it was my wedding ring I would be frantically looking for it," she said.
"A.J. to D.B." and a date of "Nov. 27, '74" are engraved inside.
Plainville police posted a photo of the ring on Facebook in hopes of reuniting the ring with its rightful owner.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the police station at 508-809-5554.
As for Travers, she left the store with more than she expected.
"Naturally I had to buy the sweatpants," she said. "I thought it was a weird fate connection even though it's just a pair of sweatpants."
