Tom Brady OK, But Right Ankle 'Pretty Sore' After Loss In Miami

BOSTON (CBS) -- Losing to the Dolphins to finish the regular season was bad enough for the New England Patriots, but it could have been a lot worse.

Tom Brady took several big hits throughout the 20-10 loss in Miami, including one that left the quarterback limping when the game was over.

Brady was rolled up on by Dolphins pass-rusher Ndamukong Suh in the second quarter, a hit that required him to get some medical attention on the sidelines (and caused most of New England to hold their breath for about five minutes). His right ankle was re-taped by the team's medical staff and he didn't miss a snap until Jimmy Garoppolo came in for New England's final drive, but Brady admitted after the game there was still some lingering pain from his rough afternoon.

"I'm pretty sore," said Brady. "But it will be all right."

Brady gingerly walked off the stage after he was done addressing the media following Sunday's loss, grabbing the wall with his right hand as he made his way down the stairs.  He was sacked twice in the game, with the Dolphins getting six hits on the New England quarterback.

Brady threw the ball a career-low five times in the first half, and finished the game completing 12 of his 21 passes for 134 yards and no touchdowns.

While it appears everything is OK with New England's franchise player, it's a good thing they have a bye week before their postseason begins in the divisional round in two weeks.
