Bruins Place David Krejci On IR, Recall Seth Griffith

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins placed David Krejci on injured reserve Tuesday, recalling Seth Griffith from Providence to take his place on the roster.

Griffith will be eligible for Tuesday night's game when the Bruins host the Ottawa Senators at TD Garden.

This marks Griffith's first recall of the 2015-16 season. He played 30 games for Boston last year, making his NHL debut on October 13, 2014 against the Colorado Avalanche, and registered six goals and four assists for the B's.

In 24 games this season, Griffin was Providence's leader with 10 goals, 17 assists and 27 points.

On Monday, Bruins head coach Claude Julien said Krejci is "week to week" with an upper-body injury he suffered Sunday night in Ottawa. Boston's first-line center will have to spend at least seven days on the IR.
