2 Arrested In Fall River Bar Stabbing
FALL RIVER (CBS) -- A man and woman were arrested this weekend after police say they stabbed three people in a bar.
Edwin Pacheco, 24, and Crystal Colon, 27, both of Fall River, were charged with two counts of armed assault to murder, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing substantial injury.
Witnesses said the pair were escorted out of JC's Café & Restaurant around 1:50 a.m. Saturday after trying to provide drinks to someone the bar had cut off. They reportedly reentered shortly after, with Colon shoving patrons and Pacheco now armed with a knife. As the owner and patrons tried to push them back out, witnesses said Pacheco slashed and stabbed three victims. The pair then fled in a vehicle.
A 45-year-old man was treated at the scene for a stab wound to the arm. A second man, 23, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for a stab wound to the abdomen. A third man, 57, reportedly the establishment's owner, is also in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital.
Police located and arrested Colon and Pacheco at a June Street address listed to Colon, and also executed a search warrant on the address.
The pair are expected to be arraigned Monday in Fall River Second District Court.
