Jamie Collins Confirms Return On Sunday For Pats-Eagles: 'I'm Ready'

By Matt Dolloff (@mattdolloff)

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins missed the past four games with an illness that remains a mystery. But No. 91 says he's ready to make his much-anticipated return on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

When asked if he would be ready to play this week, Collins replied with simply "Yeah," and added "I'm ready. Glad to be back."

Asked about the symptoms he felt during his illness, Collins said "I was just feeling bad, I was feeling real bad. I don't want to talk about it."

Collins returned to Patriots practice on Tuesday, but his status for Sunday's game remained up in the air. Barring an unforeseen setback, the Patriots will get back arguably their best and most important defensive player. Collins would be especially welcome back to the defense considering that Dont'a Hightower may not play, as he recovers from a sprained MCL.

Collins had been enjoying a Pro Bowl-caliber season in his first seven games, compiling 51 tackles with 4.5 sacks and a team-leading 3 forced fumbles and generally wreaking havoc for opposing offenses.
