Report: Amendola Not Expected To Miss Extended Time With Knee Sprain

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots Nation can let out a collective sigh of relief, as Danny Amendola isn't expected to miss much time with a knee injury he suffered in Monday night's win over the Bills.

According to CSNNE's Tom E. Curran, it's just a sprained knee for Amendola and he is not expected to miss an extended period of time with the injury. The receiver underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which confirmed Amendola did not suffer a major injury in the third quarter on Monday night.

With Julien Edelman sidelined for the rest of the regular season, Amendola has emerged as Tom Brady's top target. He has 49 receptions for 520 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games this season, and had nine reception for 117 yards Monday before leaving with the injury. In New England's last two games, Amendola has 19 receptions on 23 targets.

It's unclear if Amendola will be good to go for Sunday night's game against the Broncos in Denver, but we'll get a better idea of his status when New England releases their first practice report of the week Wednesday afternoon.
