Owen Labrie Listed On Vermont's Sex Offender Registry

CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) — The New Hampshire prep school graduate convicted of sexually assaulting a freshman in May 2014 is now listed on Vermont's sex offender registry.

Twenty-year-old Owen Labrie of Tunbridge, Vermont, was ordered to register as a sex offender for life after he was found guilty of using a computer to lure the 15-year old girl at St. Paul's School in Concord.

The encounter was part of a sexual conquest competition known on campus as a "senior salute."

He was also sentenced to one year in jail and to serve five years of probation. He is out on bail while his lawyers appeal the conviction.

He can petition to be removed from the sex offender list 15 years after he completes his sentence.
