Keller @ Large: Donald Trump's Best And Worst

BOSTON (CBS) - The Donald Trump Express pulled into Worcester Wednesday night, and packed the DCU Center with appreciative fans who roared at all the usual Trump punch lines.

They booed mentions of President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, cheered Trump's obscenity-laced description of what he'd like to do to ISIS, laughed at his references to "stupid" politicians, and chanted "USA, USA" when a couple of stray hecklers were hauled away.

Trump scores best when he slams the lack of "common sense" of some of our political leaders, and his colorful presentation is welcome relief from tedious political platitudes. But even the hyped-up crowd in Worcester seemed to lose interest when he rambled on narcissistically about his personal wealth.

And there is one consistent flaw in the Trump show that will sooner or later come back to bite him - his willingness to bend facts to suit his narrative.

He changed the subject during his press conference Wednesday night when I asked him to justify his claim that the government wants to bring in 250,000 Syrian refugees, when the actual number is closer to 10,000.

He is apparently willing to throw lighter fluid on the emotional public debate over security right now.

There's a word for that kind of approach, a word I can't repeat. Suffice to say the word is not presidential.
