Daily Talker: Ejected For Praising God

A high school football player in Arizona was ejected from a game for excessive celebration after a touchdown. The celebration? Pointing to the sky to thank God.

Pedro Banda, is not allowed to play in the playoffs due to the action. His family will appeal the decision.

"It's a thing him and his brother do. They always do it to thank God for everything they've been through," Banda's mother, Angela Franco, said. "If it is a rule, I would have liked to have been informed of it."

A similar incident happened during a Massachusetts state championship game in 2011.

Cathedral High School quarterback Matthew Owens was racing down the field for a winning touchdown and raised his arm.  Owens was penalized and the touchdown was nullified. Cathedral would lose the game.

What do you think? Are the rules too strict?  Should young athletes be able to celebrate a big moment?
