Dion Lewis Limited, Tarell Brown Misses Thursday's Practice For Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- Dion Lewis popped up on New England's practice report on Thursday, as the Patriots running back was limited with an abdomen injury.

Maybe all those jukes he had against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday finally caught up to him? He was a full participant on Wednesday, so maybe this is Bill Belichick playing with the practice report and making sure Chuck Pagano learns Lewis' name once Sunday's matchup with the Colts arrives.

Elsewhere on the practice report, veteran corner Tarell Brown missed Thursday's session with a foot injury. Brown was the only player missing from Thursday's practice after he was limited with the injury on Wednesday, raising questions about his status for Sunday's game.

As some added insurance in case Brown is sidelined for Sunday's tilt, the Patriots claimed corner Rashaan Melvin off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.

There was good news from Thursday's practice, as linebacker Dont'a Hightower practiced for the second straight day. Hightower was again limited as he recovers from a rib injury he suffered during last Sunday's 30-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

On the Colts side of the practice report, quarterback Andrew Luck was limited for the second straight day with a right shoulder injury.  Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton was added to the report on Thursday as a limited participant (groin) along with defensive tackle Billy Winn (eye). Linebackers Trent Cole (back), Jerrell Freeman (groin) and Nate Irving (knee) were also limited on Thursday.

Linebackers D'Qwell Jackson (rest) and Bjoern Werner (hamstring) were the only Colts players to miss Thursday's session.

Both wide receiver Andre Johnson and linebacker Robert Mathis were both full participants for Indianapolis after getting a day of rest on Wednesday.
