Driver Charged After Car Crashes Into NH Home

GILSUM, N.H. (CBS) – Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a New Hampshire crash that sent a car careening through several trees and into a home.

On Friday just after 10 p.m., New Hampshire State Police were called to Main Street in Gilsum for a crash.

Preliminary investigation shows that a 2008 Chevy Cobalt was driving east at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, hit several trees and crashed into a home near Banks Road.

There did not appear to be structural damage done to the home.

A 39-year-old Gilsum woman who was a passenger in the car was seriously injured in the crash. She was taken to Dartmouth Medical Center in Lebanon by helicopter.

Jesse Baldinelli, 21, also of Gilsum, was not injured. Police said Baldinelli was driving the car when it crashed.

Officers determined that Baldinelli was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving after suspension second offense and conduct after an accident.

He was held for lack of cash bail andw ill be arraigned on October 5.
