38 Studios Consultant Agrees To Pay $45,000 In Bankruptcy
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A lawyer who consulted for 38 Studios as it struck a $75 million deal with the state has agreed to pay $45,000 to the trustee handling the bankruptcy of the video game firm started by ex-Red Sox player Curt Schilling.
Bankruptcy court filings show the agreement between trustee Jeoffrey Burtch and Michael Corso. It must still be approved by the judge overseeing the matter in federal bankruptcy court in Delaware.
Corso helped negotiate the deal that brought 38 Studios to Rhode Island from Massachusetts.
Burtch previously said Corso was paid $232,800 by 38 Studios shortly before it collapsed in 2012. The trustee said the money should not have been paid because the company was insolvent.
A hearing on the proposed settlement is scheduled for November.
