Boston Police: Armed Robber Apologizes After Cutting, Biting Victim

BOSTON (CBS) -- A Brighton man apparently felt very bad about cutting, biting and robbing someone early Tuesday morning, police say.

Quincy T. Holland, 22, is accused of holding a man at knifepoint and demanding money at about 12:45 a.m. near Ashford and Chester Streets in Allston.

Boston police said that when the victim replied that he didn't have any cash, Holland cut him with a knife, bit his ear and stole his phone.

When police found Holland, they say he tried to run away but was quickly detained.

"Before the officer could speak, the suspect apologized profusely, admitting that he robbed the victim and that the knife was in his front pocket," police said.

The contrite suspect is charged with armed robbery, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, and mayhem.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
