Bills Needle Patriots With Air Pumps Displayed Prominently In Pro Shop

BOSTON (CBS) -- You hear about that Patriots scandal? I hear it left them all deflated. Waka waka!

There's been a deluge of cheap jokes at the Patriots' expense in the wake of DeflateGate. One can only take so many puns involving air, deflation, pumps, balls, what have you. But as South Park showed you Wednesday night, that's all you really can do at this point is sit back and laugh at the absurdity of the whole situation.

The Buffalo Bills welcome the Patriots this weekend for their annual showdown at Ralph Wilson Stadium, and it's the biggest clash between these teams in years (decades?). In addition to plenty of hot air leaking out of the Buffalo locker room from Rex Ryan and several players, the Bills needled the Patriots with these air pumps on prominent display in the team's Pro Shop:

Pro Shop manager Jason Klein went right on TV about it. He told WIVB in Buffalo: "Just in case anybody needs to inflate their footballs, we have equipment to do that." At least they're doubling down on the joke, instead of denying and calling it a coincidence like a troll.

My fellow Patriots fans: If you get the least bit angry or offended about this you should turn in your Flying Elvis gear and find another team. It's harmless humor. In fact it should make you smile, knowing that you're so far in team's heads they devote time and resources to re-arranging their pro shop display just to reach for a low-hanging fruit.

Crying about it would only make us look worse. And you're going to have to deal with rib-pokes like this all season, so get used to it.
