Man, 71, Seriously Beaten In Barre Road Rage Assault

BARRE (CBS) – Police in Barre say they are looking for someone who beat a 71-year-old man in a road rage incident.

Officers responded to Route 122 at about 6 p.m. Saturday for what was initially called a traffic hazard, but later determined to be road rage.

The man was reportedly pulled from his vehicle on the side of the road and hit several times in the face, "causing potentially serious injuries."

Police said others witnessed the attack, but they're reaching out to the public for more information.

The attacker is described as a white man with short dark hair and a sleeve of tattoos, wearing jeans and a T-shirt. He took off in what might have been a green Chevrolet or GMC SUV-type vehicle.

Anyone with information should call Barre police.
