Police Seize Hundreds Of 'Spice' Bags Sold Out Of Quincy Smoke Shop

QUINCY (CBS) -- A smoke shop keeper is facing charges after allegedly dealing "spice" out of his Quincy store.

Police received multiple reports of people who needed help after smoking the synthetic form of marijuana known as spice.

They spotted three people acting erratically in Quincy Square this week.

Quincy Police Capt. John Dougan says the people were hallucinating, falling on the ground, and they had to call an ambulance for one person who couldn't control himself.

An investigation into the incident led police to V&K Smoke Shop on Hancock Street.

Anti-crime officers allegedly saw the shopkeeper, Krzysztof Sadlowski, taking the drug from under the counter and sell them to two people.

When confronted, Sadlowski turned more than 475 packages of spice over to officers.

He faces more than 80 charges including violating Quincy city ordinance, and possession and sale of an illegal drug.

The shopkeeper faces a fine of $150 per ounce, and if lab tests find specific illegal chemicals in the spice, he may face additional charges.
