Daily Talker: Netflix, Microsoft Parental Leave

One day after Netflix made headlines by announcing major changes to its parental leave policy, Microsoft unveiled its policy as well.

Microsoft says it is extending leave for moms and dads to 12 weeks at full pay. Birth mothers can also earn an additional eight weeks of "maternity disability leave" with full pay.

Microsoft also says new parents can choose to take a full 12-week period off or split it into two stretches.

This comes as Netflix announced it is offering paid leave for up to one year. Employees will be allowed to return and leave again if necessary and continue to earn their normal pay throughout.

What do you think of these new parental leave policies? What do you think is a good amount of leave time for a parent?
