Women Robbed At Gunpoint In South Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Police are searching for two men accused of a pair of incidents where women were robbed of their purses at gunpoint in the early morning hours in South Boston.
The first incident took place around 2:15 a.m. on July 11 in the area of K Street and East 8th Street when a woman and her female friends were walking home.
Police say a white car stopped next to the women and a black man got out, and showing a gun.
The suspect allegedly demanded the woman give him the purse she was carrying. The victim complied, and the man drove away.
A similar incident happened at 1 a.m. on July 25, police said.
The victims in the area of East 6th Street said two men jumped them from behind and one man put what appeared to be a black handgun to her side, demanding her purse.
A nearby resident heard screaming and came out to help, which scared off the suspects.
An off-duty police officer then saw the suspects run down M Street and speed off in a white Honda, Boston Police said.
The suspects are described as black men, one who was 5'5" wearing a hoodie and jeans, and another who was 5'7" tall.
