Tom Brady Tops NFL Sales From March Through May

BOSTON (CBS) -- Here's another new first for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Even with all the DeflateGate nonsense he's had to deal with, for the first time in his 15-year career Brady is the retail champion of the NFL, ranking No. 1 on the NFLPA's Top 50 Player Sales list. He replaces Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson atop the list.

The list is based on total sales of all officially licensed merchandise from March 1 through May 31, 2015, including everything from NFL jerseys to toys that carry Brady's likeness. Brady outsold all players in the Oyo Sports mini-figure market, as well as Forever Collectibles bobbleheads and Fatheads.

Brady ranked second in Nike jersey sales, behind only San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The Top 5 of the Player Sales list was made up of all quarterbacks, with Kaepernick, Wilson, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos rounding out the Top 5 after Brady.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski checked in at No. 14 on the Top 50 list.

Here's the full Top 15:

1. Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots
