NightSide - Are Mandatory Minimum Sentences Necessary?

BOSTON (CBS) - Massachusetts Supreme Court Chief Justice Ralph Gants recently criticized mandatory minimum sentences, claiming that they do not allow judges to use the proper discretion, and pushing for the state to get rid of them. But Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe strongly disagree. They sit down with Dan to talk about why they believe mandatory sentences are a useful tool in the pursuit of justice.
