What's Next For Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

BOSTON (CBS) – The Federal Bureau of Prisons will decide where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev goes next.

The appeals process will be extensive, according to WBZ Legal Analyst Harry Manion. "It's going to be hard to overturn the guilty verdicts, but remember there were three or more motions for a change of venue," he said. "That is going to be the focus of the appeal."

If all of his appeals are exhausted, and the death sentence is upheld, he will go to the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana. The prison is where federal death row inmates are held and where the execution would likely be carried out.

Right now, there are 59 prisoners on the federal death row. None of them were sentenced to death for terrorism-related charges.

The last federal execution was in 2003.

Tsarnaev was brought back to the federal prison in Devens after he was sentenced on Friday.
