Wednesday's Child: 7-Year-Old Codey

BOSTON (CBS) - Codey is a 7-year-old Caucasian boy from New Hampshire. He loves to play outside on his bike and scooter, playing with his cars and is now learning how to play the guitar.

Codey has an Individualized Education Plan in school for developmental delays. He has some challenges with his speech, which can make it difficult to understand him at times when he is attempting to communicate. Codey has experienced a lot of neglect in his life but still remains a very affectionate and happy little boy.

He wants nothing more than to be loved, accepted, and to live in his forever home with a family who can support his needs and help him continue to flourish. He is well-mannered and has a great sense of humor and is excited about learning. He does well in school and with peers.

Codey likes animals and has done exceptionally well with the animals in his current placement. Due to his need for constant and consistent supervision, his providers believe that Codey would benefit from being placed in home where he is either the only child or the youngest child. He wishes to have a family that would love and care for him. He is legally freed for adoption but would need monthly contact with his brother.

To learn more about Codey, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org.The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
