Fall River Police Close Attempted Kidnapping Investigation; Victim 'May Have Been Mistaken'

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- Fall River police have closed an investigation into a reported attempted kidnapping after the victim says she "may have been mistaken."

Earlier on Thursday, police put out surveillance footage of a white van seen in the area and said a 60-year-old woman told them two men tried to abduct her.

The owner of the white van came forward and police were able to clear her and the van.

The victim was re-interviewed, and told police that she had been experiencing mental health issues and anxiety.
