Daily Talker: Divorce By Facebook

A judge has given a Brooklyn woman permission to file for divorce from her husband via a Facebook message.

Ellanora Baidoo says her husband moved out of their Brooklyn residence a few years ago.  Her husband, Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku, will be served with the divorce summons via a private Facebook message and will be repeated once a week for three consecutive weeks or until Blood-Dzraku "acknowledges" the message.

The ruling says Blood-Dzraku has only been in touch with his wife via phone and Facebook.

"The person who is suing for divorce has to serve the other party personally, in this case that was impossible because after Mr. Blood-Dzraku, the husband, moved out of the marital residence in Brooklyn he had been incognito as far as his address is concerned for a couple of years," Attorney Andrew Spinnell says.

What do you think of a woman being allowed to divorce her husband via a Facebook message?
