BOSTON (CBS) – It’s an exciting time for pizza-lovers as more restaurants are now serving authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and even coal-fired pizza.

Dan Andelman of the Phantom Gourmet traveled around New England to find some delicious authentic pies.

At A4 in Somerville’s Union Square, the pizzas go well beyond ordinary from the buffalo chicken to fennel sausage and house-pickled banana peppers.

Prides Piccola Napoletana in Beverly makes one of the most authentic margherita pizzas you can find outside of Italy.

900 Degrees is an upscale, Neapolitan style pizzeria with locations in Manchester and Epping, New Hampshire serving popular pies like the “Bella Cossa.”
