Daily Talker: Coffee and Race

Instead of stirring up a discussion on race, Starbucks has stirred up controversy.

Starting this week, Starbucks employees can write the words "Race Together" on cups to initiate conversations about race issues.

But the move quickly ignited backlash from customers.  Some argued that picking up coffee during a morning commute wasn't the time or place to have this kind conversation.

The firestorm eventually reached Corey duBrowa, the company's Senior Vice President of Global Communications, who was forced to delete his Twitter account Monday night after saying he "felt personally attacked in a cascade of negativity".  He rejoined Twitter last night.
