Celtics @ 7: New-Look Celtics Vault Into Playoff Hunt

BOSTON (CBS) – The exciting, new-look Celtics have been exhilarating to watch lately, as their three-game winning streak has vaulted them into a four-way tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Saturday's "Celtics @ 7" on 98.5 The Sports Hub examined the team's recent success, led by the play off the bench by still relatively new C's Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Jonas Jerebko.

Host Adam Kaufman offered his thoughts on small-ball and Thomas's impact since joining the line-up last weekend. Boston Globe Celtics beat writer Adam Himmelsbach joined the show in the second segment to do the same, and also analyze whether fans are watching the makings of a postseason team.

Kaufman and Himmelsbach additionally looked back on a rough week for injured forward Jared Sullinger, who was called out by team president of basketball operations Danny Ainge for his poor conditioning. It was an uncharacteristic move by Ainge, clearly made out of frustration with one of his top young talents.

The show wrapped with a look at an interesting week ahead, including tilts with top championship contenders from Golden State and Cleveland.
