Wednesday's Child: 10-Year-Old Que'Mya And 11-Year-Old Ty'Janee

BOSTON (CBS) - Que'Mya is a smart and funny 10-year-old African American girl. She works hard in school and wants to do well. She is very nurturing to other students in the class who need academic help. Que'Mya is described as a happy, resilient child who displays good emotional intelligence. She loves to draw, color, play outside, travel and swim and wants an active family who enjoys going to the movies and maybe Disneyland someday. Que'Mya is close to her sister Ty'Janee and hopes to find a family where they can grow up together.

Ty'Janee is an engaging 11-year-old African American girl with a big personality and smile to match. She lights up a room! A bright and social student, she earns good grades. She also enjoys participating in her after-school program as well as church activities on the weekend. She talks about wanting her own room to keep her school supplies, clothes, and allowance for doing chores. She feels it is important to go to church and wants to eat dinner at the table every evening. Ty'Janee wants to be a lawyer when she grows up because she wants to say "objection!"

Both girls have endured abuse by the adults in their lives and have worked hard in therapy to process their past experiences and prepare for the future. They continue to focus on developing a sense of safety and trusting caregivers. These siblings would do best in a family with a mom and dad and with no other or significantly older children in the home. Ty'Janee and Que'Maya are legally free for adoption and will need to continue visits with their older sister.

To learn more about Que'Mya and Ty'Janee, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
