Beanpot Title, Consolation Games Postponed

BOSTON (CBS) - Even hockey players aren't tough enough to brave this storm.

After thrilling wins in the semifinal round, BU and Northeastern were set to face off Monday night at TD Garden for the Beanpot trophy and Boston college hockey bragging rights.

But with a big storm about to dump another two feet of snow in the region, the 63rd annual Beanpot title and consolation games have been postponed to February 23rd.

Northeastern is looking for its fifth Beanpot title and first since 1988, while Boston University holds the record for most Beanpot titles at 29, but hasn't won since 2009 when they won the national championship later that year.

This will be the first matchup of the season between the Huskies and Terriers, who will face off two more times on February 27th and 28th in Hockey East conference play.

The Boston College Eagles face the Harvard Crimson in the consolation game prior to the finals.
