Pregnant Woman Injured In Head-On Carver Crash

CARVER (CBS) – A pregnant woman was taken to a Boston hospital by medical helicopter following a head-on crash in Carver.

Police were called to South Main Street on Sunday at about 4:45 p.m. and found a 21-year-old Buzzards Bay woman trapped in the driver's seat of a 2005 Cheverolet Impala.

The woman, who is five months pregnant, was taken to Tufts Medical center in Boston by helicopter. The woman's condition was not immediately known.

Her passenger, a 22-year-old Plympton man, go out of the car on his own and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

A 23-year-old Carver man who was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion was also transported to Beth Israel. He received a citation following the crash, Carver police said.

South Main Street was closed for about an hour following the crash.
