Keller @ Large: Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl XLIX Prediction

BOSTON (CBS) - Ok, the time has come to get off the fence and make a prediction for the big game on Sunday.

First, some context: Seattle is a terrific city, beautiful setting, great museums, restaurants and music, friendly people. And coffee shops.

Lots and lots of coffee shops.

Seattle is actually a lot like Boston, built on hills at the edge of the water and filled with rabid sports fans. They take pride in their city and great pleasure in beating the daylights out of their arch-rival city to the south, San Francisco, much as we enjoy snuffing out the hopes and dreams of that overrated metropolis to our south.

And I don't mean Providence.

I like Seattle so much that I can't use my usual method of forecasting the outcome of a big game, weighing our city against theirs and letting that sway my choice, which always seems to be Boston.

Instead, I'm forced to evaluate this game based on factors like the players and coaches.

We have Tom Brady, who won three Super Bowls in his first four years but has gone so long without winning that he's wicked hungry.

They have Russell Wilson, a talented youngster who won it last year, his sophomore season, and doesn't know what hunger really is.

Edge, Patriots.

Their coach is Pete Carroll, a genial Californian who won it last year by letting his players run wild.

Ours is Bill Belichick, a hostile Tennessean who keeps his team on a short leash.

Edge, Patriots.

And a final reason to pick the Pats by three points – to let their air out of all the gasbags who thought they could whine us into submission.
